I will be joining Leyla Ahmet from Yoga Uganda in November 2017 in teaching a portion of this training.

A 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Uganda, Africa happening from November 10th - December 1, 2017.

This training is a holistic, integrated approach to vinyasa yoga. The training will be split into three modules. Thirty hours of the training will be made up of supported pre and post training work. The other 170 hours of the training will be held in Uganda, Africa. The first half of this section will be held in Jinja, Uganda at the Bohemian Resort and the second half will be held in Queen Elizabeth National Park at The River Lodge

The three modules will teach you the fundamental philosophies and practices of yoga, empowerment and leadership as well as being of service to others.

Exploration of asana, optimal alignment, use of props, risks and benefits.
Western Anatomy: Functional anatomy as it relates to yoga practice.
Hands on adjustments and verbal cues.
Injury prevention and management.
Yogic history and philosophy including The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Introduction to pranayama and meditation.
Introduction to Sanskrit. 
Sadhana: Developing a personal practice.
Outreach: Tips on teaching outreach and ways to create connection.
Seva: Being of service, we travel to a local village outside of Jinja, Uganda to offer our services.
Developing your voice as a teacher. Practice Teaching.
Learn to create creative vinyasa sequences.
Kundalini yoga basics.
The subtle body and the chakra system.
Mantra: The power and magic of chanting and what they mean.
Meditation – Functions of the mind and meditation practices.
Online guided support pre and post training.
A service (seva) project with WORI. A womens right initiative in Jinja, Uganda.
Game drives in the Ishasha Sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park along with one night of bush camping under the stars. 
Many exceptional bird spotting and animal watching opportunities as well as the possibility of seeing the famous tree climbing lions of Ishasha.
An opportunity to join the Jinja Community Yoga practice.

Total cost including accommodation is $4,000. This is based on sharing a double room.
