Mantra Monday Practice: Lokah Samastah Sukinoh Bhavantu ⁣

Lokah Samastah Sukinoh Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

This beautiful Sanskrit mantra offers a blessing of compassion and kindness to all beings. ⁣

"[This mantra] reminds us that our relationships with all beings and things should be mutually beneficial if we ourselves desire happiness and liberation from suffering. No true or lasting happiness can come from causing unhappiness to others. No true or lasting freedom can come from depriving others of their freedom. If we say we want every being to be happy and free, then we have to question everything that we do-how we live, how we eat, what we buy, how we speak, and even how we think." ~Sharon Gannon⁣

Mantra Practice:⁣

This is a simple practice to do when you are feeling a bit overwhelmed by life. It is also a great practice to do when you need to get out of your own suffering. Take a moment to set the intention of peace and happiness in your life and the lives of everyone while placing your hands on your heart center. Bring your attention to your heart center and allow the breath to flow in and out of the heart. As you do this, silently repeat to yourself "Lokah Samastah Sukinoh Bhavantu," for 3 minutes.⁣
